JOB DESCRIPTION:

RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Setting up network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices. This also involves configuring these devices to meet the specific needs.
- Diagnosing and resolving network issues promptly. This includes identifying the root cause of network problems and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Implementing and maintaining network security measures to protect data from unauthorized access, viruses, and other security threats. This includes setting up firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Keeping detailed records of network configurations, changes, and maintenance activities.
- Performing regular maintenance on network equipment to ensure optimal performance. This includes updating firmware, replacing faulty hardware, and upgrading network components as needed.
- Ensuring that the network infrastructure complies with relevant standards and regulations. This may involve implementing specific protocols or technologies to meet compliance requirements.
- Developing and implementing disaster recovery plans to ensure network resilience in case of major failures or disasters. This includes regular testing of these plans to ensure their effectiveness.
- Providing technical support to other staff members within the data center, helping them to resolve any network-related issues they may encounter
REQUIREMENTS :
- Over 3 years’ working experience
- Ability to work late hours and in shifts
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced busy environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Minimum of a Diploma in Information Technology/ Computer Science
- Those with the following Networking certifications will have an added advantage
- CompTIA Network+
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
